Eclectic Revival Contact Photography Festival

CONTACT 2011 is an annual month long festival of photography with over 500 local, national and international artists at more than 200 venues across the Greater Toronto Area in May. Founded as a not-for-profit organization 12 years ago, CONTACT is devoted to celebrating, and fostering an appreciation of the art and profession of photography.

This year our shop will be hosting photographer Nathan Hiller. Hiller’s photographs reveal the graceful lines, reflections, and effects of light and shadow on classic automobiles. Rather than just admire the elegance of the whole vehicle, Hiller focuses on elements of the design, revealing the impact created by its current environment. Some photographs exhibit the geometric nature while others are ethereal.

Hiller's work is a perfect fit for our shop since we have recently been making some custom light fixtures using re-purposed vintage automobile headlights and hood ornaments which we will be illuminating Hiller's work with.

Junction Arts Festival

Join us at the Junction Arts Festival
September 8th to the 12th 2010

The Junction Arts Festival is the largest "Art Meets Street" festival in North America.

Now in its fourteenth year, The Junction Arts Festival proudly continues to promote the arts and The Junction community. The festival offers something for everyone! A juried art show featuring the work of established and emerging artists working in virtually evey medium, live musical performances, dancers, poetry readings, interactive demonstrations and workshops, the newly added Curated Art Show focusing on site specific installations, and much much more! This year it will be expanding to five days of FREE events for the whole family. The festival will take place on Dundas Street West between Keele Street and Quebec Avenue and will close Dundas to pedestrian traffic during the weekend.
