Item #1016
Signed Bradley & Hubbard Chandelier w/ Steuben Calcite Shade - SORRY SOLD This is a rare and beautiful signed Bradley & Hubbard chandelier with it's original 18" Steuben "Calcite" shade. The chandelier dates from around 1907-1910 and is in excellent original condition. The frame is all brass construction with it's original antique bronze finish. We love the way this elegant frame gracefully flows down to this incredible art glass shade. The shade is unsigned but is unmistakably Steuben Calcite! This deep etched shade is white in color with a slight iridescent finish....when lit it takes on a pale amber tone. The shade has a couple of minor chips along the top edge that are not noticeable at all from eye level and are being mentioned for accuracy. The fixture has a total drop 31". The shade is 18" in diameter and about 4" deep. The top opening is about 15" in diameter. The fixture has been rewired using it's original "Perkins" bulb sockets that are dated Nov 26th, 1907. These bulb sockets have the same antique bronze finish as the fixture. We have added new cardboard insulators to the sockets and new rubber grommets between the glass shade and hardware. The fixture is signed B&H on the inside of the ceiling cap. Both Bradley & Hubbard and Steuben were famous for their fine decorative arts and especially for their fine lighting products....this chandelier is truly a remarkable collaboration from these two important companies. This is a rare opportunity for you to own a great piece of American decorative art history. More pictures available upon request. Back to Fixture Collection |
