Junction Toronto is a bit rough around the edges and is dubbed one of those up and coming Toronto neighbourhoods. But unlike some other up and coming neighbourhoods like Leslieville and Parkdale, the Junction's main street (Dundas) is much busier with 4 lanes of traffic that aren't slowed by street cars.
Nevertheless cheap rents have brought all sorts of great independent businesses that range from furniture and design to independent clothing designers.
Since turing over a century long prohibition the Junction also has a new crop of restaurants and bars.
While you will see many empty store fronts and Blockbuster or Money Mart is as commercial as this neighbourhood gets, it is the small buisnesses that offer something different to the retail landscape of Toronto that is the pull of the Junction.
