Item #5014
Large 1910 Mission Oak / Arts & Crafts Table Desk Lamp
$1500.00

Fresh out of a Toronto estate we have this fantastic period 1910 oak arts and crafts table/desk lamp. This is a great example of early arts and crafts lighting in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright. The lines and proportions of this lamp are perfect. It is made from oak that has taken on a great patina over the years. All we did to this lamp was rewire it with a period style rayon cord. All the amber slag glass is in excellent condition.....it has a molted look to it and also has lots of little bubbles in it throughout. The lamp is very solid and overall in excellent condition. We inspected it very closely and noticed three old repairs on one side of the lamp shade (side where the cord comes out). These are small repairs where the wood was notched out. Please e-mail for full details and close up photos of these repairs. Their are only two pieces of veneer on the whole lamp....these are on the foot of the base and were put there when made to cover the end grain of the wood....the rest of the lamp is all solid oak. It is lit by two original signed HUBBELL sockets with acorn pull chains. The guts as well as the cardboard insulator of these sockets have been replaced with new ones.

The lamp stands about 19" tall. The shade measures an impressive 27" across by 12 1/2" wide. The foot of the base measures about 10 1/2" across by 6 1/8 wide. No signature anywhere....just the number 94 written on the bottom. This lamp looks amazing from every angle!! This is a great example of early North American decorative art history.
